City Wings is a family owned Mexican/wing restaurant in Cartersville. Jose Sanchez is the owner, and his brother Mario Sanchez is the manager. They have been in business for 20 years.
City Wings offers a 10 percent military discount.
“We currently do not offer any student discounts, but it is something we will look to in the future,” Mario Sanchez said.
Because of the coronavirus, they are taking the appropriate measures to protect themselves and the community. City Wings is doing takeout, curbside pick-up and deliveries, instead of dining in. They have been cleaning more frequently throughout the day. They have also been wearing gloves and frequently changing them.
City Wings sponsors many high school bands and sports teams. They take donations for giving as charity to those in need and always feed the homeless that reside in Cartersville for free.
Many of their employees have been working there since they opened. Julio Alonso, a cook, has been working there since they opened 20 years ago, and is “considered family” by the Sanchez brothers.
Brandie Brittian, a waitress at City Wings, said she loves working there because she feels it is “a very welcoming place to work and feels like a family.”
Their hours before COVID-19 were Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. With COVID-19 affecting businesses, they have new hours of 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. all week.
